10 Tips when Designing and Printing a Visiting Card.
- Company Logo
- First and foremost you need a high resolution file, PDF or png, of your company logo in order for it to be used on the visiting card design and to be printed.
- Keep it clean and simple
- Don’t clutter it with too much information. Include only the essential details like – Company name & Logo, Name, Designation and contact details.
- Add a bit of colour
- Make it a little colourful rather than going with dull colour so that it catches someone’s eye.
- Make sure the font is readable.
- Try and stick to 1 or a maximum of 2 types of fonts for a visiting card design. Make sure these fonts chosen are easy to read and not a cursive type of font.
- Unique Design
- Choose a unique design or colour for your visitng card so that it stands out from the rest. You can even choose an unusual material to print it on.
- Print on durable material
- Have it printed on a thick and durable board of about 250 or 300gsm, that will not get damaged or look worn out easily.
- Board Colour
- It’s better to usually use a light coloured board like white or ivory but you can make a difference and even go with a pastel coloured board and be a little unique. If you are choosing a dark coloured board, make sure the font and company logo is in a lighter colour and the corporate colours don’t change or look different.
- Finishing
- You can add something extra for your finishing touches like, something a little blingy would be a digital metallic foiling. If you want something more subtle you can go for a matte or velvet laminate or a corner cut (curved edge) in all 4 sides our just 2 sides.
- Sample Print
- Getting a sample print done is very important. What you see in the monitor always differs to the actual print. So get a sample print done and check on colours, spellings, layout and all the minor details which you will not spot on a screen.
- Size of Visiting card
- Always stick to the standard size of 9cm x 5cm. You can maybe change the shape a little bit if you wish to be different but make sure that it would fit in a wallet or card holder easily.
