Rewriting the stories of generations over centuries, GTC Xpress was born to bring life to the present day printing requirements of the nation. Since 2002, the parent company of GTC Xpress, “GTC Converters (Pvt) Ltd” was in operation as the leaders of print value addition and paper-trading in the country. Thereafter, in 2014, Xpress Digital Printshop, located at Battarmulla, came into action to address the digital printing needs of the clientele.
At GTC Xpress, we are always ready to meet your changing business needs by offering a gamut of services including Digital Printing, Graphic Designing, Plan Printing, Offset Printing and Banner Printing. We do address your customized printing requirements by providing you special services such as variable printing. Our History
Way back in the middle of the 19th Century, just before Ceylon acquires its independence, young Mr. Mathew Gunaratne, migrated to Colombo from Downsouth; quite determined to chase one of his passions in life to enter the blooming printing industry. In 1946, armed with many years of experience in all aspects of printing, and a capital of Rupees 25,000 he could find a small shopfront in Driebergs Avenue, Maradana. Later, he bought the necessary machinery to make his dream come true, marking the birth of the “Gunaratne Printers”.
After the era of Mr. Mathew Gunaratne, the printing shop was then passed to the second generation. Mr. Gunaratne’s five sons overlooked the company operations and it was made to a limited liability company under the name Gunaratne Offset (Pvt) Ltd.
Later, in 2002, one of the sons Mr. Ranjith Gunaratne identified the need for specialized services needed for the printing industry and formed GTC Converters (Pvt) Ltd. Followed by this venture, In 2014, “Xpress Digital” started to function as a division of GTC Converters to enter the emerging digital printing market. After five years of its journey, Xpress Digital Printshop has now become “GTC Xpress (Pvt) Limited” as a separate company. Currently, leading the company to explore novel dimensions, representing the third generation of the Gunaratne family, Ms. Rajitha Gunaratne heads “GTC Xpress” as the Managing Director.
